5 Fun Things at Disney World That Do Not Require Theme Park Admission

As fun as Walt Disney World theme parks are, sometimes you need a break! You're always on the run to the next ride or snack, and there's thousands of people trying to do the same thing.

Let's be real - theme parks are tiring.

Next time you have a trip planned to Epcot or Magic Kingdom, take a step back and consider these five, fun options that don't require the theme park hustle.

Disney Springs Waterfront

Take a deep breath, pop those Minnie Mouse Ears off your head, and let's get started!

1. Visit Disney Springs

From superb dining, to shops featuring the world's top brands, Disney Springs is a unique experience like no other! Eat a vegan cupcake (or five), build a Lego masterpiece, or dine with dinosaurs - pretty casual.

It's enjoyable for the entire family - day or night - with live music, performances, and FREE PARKING!

2. Play a round of Mini Golf

There are two options on property: Winter Summerland and Fantasia Gardens. The former is a winter wonderland in the heart of Florida! Even some friends from the North Pole stopped by to enjoy a mini-vacay. The latter is themed after the musical film Fantasia, with 18 whimsical holes of melody and character.

Take your pick, grab your putter, and have a ball!

3. Stroll the Boardwalk

The Boardwalk is a beautifully themed, deluxe resort on property. Behind the hotel itself, there is a stretch of shops, restaurants, and bars located along the water. In addition to the gorgeous, relaxing views during the day, there are a handful of free evening entertainment offerings, including magicians, musicians, and jugglers!

4. Resort-hop

Intrigued by the beauty of the Boardwalk? Then you'll love the fresh beignets and New Orleans charm of Port Orleans - Riverside. Wanting more? Animal Kingdom Lodge offers close-up views of the African Sahara, without having to step foot in Animal Kingdom. Ever wanted to dine like royalty? Partake in some biscuits, pastries, and tea at The Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. The possibilities are endless!

5. Dine with Character

Missing the special character interactions within the parks? No need to worry! Several of the character meal offerings are located outside the theme parks! There's Chef Mickey’s at the Contemporary Resort, Ohana at the Polynesian Village Resort, and 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian. From Mickey Mouse, to Winnie the Pooh, to Lilo and Stitch, these dining options are both delicious and a blast!

I hope this encourages you to plan a park-free Disney day!

What's your favorite activity outside of the parks?
